Senior Agronomist
The goal of the role:
As a Senior Agronomist in our greenhouse and open field operations, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the cultivation of crops within the greenhouse and open field. You will utilize your expertise in plant science, soil management, and crop cultivation techniques to ensure maximum yield, quality and sustainability.
About the Role:

Crop Management: Manage all aspects of crop production in both greenhouse and open field, including planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease management and harvesting.
Soil Nutrient Management: Monitor soil health and nutrient levels in both green house and open field settings to optimize plant growth and productivity.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Implement IPM strategies in both greenhouse and open field operations to control pests and diseases, utilizing biological, cultural and chemical control methods in a sustainable manner.

Environmental and Climate Monitoring: Monitor environmental conditions in both greenhouse and open field, including temperature, and soil moisture levels and adjust management practices accordingly to create optimal growing conditions for crops.

Team Leadership and Training: Provide leadership and guidance to greenhouse and field staff, including training on best practices, safety protocols and equipment operation.

Quality Control and Compliance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that crops from both green house and open field meet industry standards for freshness, appearance and taste.

What we are looking for;

Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science or a related field is preferred (a Master’s degree is a plus)
Minimum of 5 years’ and above of managerial experience in greenhouse and open field operations with a focus on crop production and management.
Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science and agronomic practices.
Proficiency in integrated pest management (IPM), fertigation as well as organic farming practices.
Proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to write analytical reports, create presentations and prepare statistical reports.

Excellent leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Possesses integrity and ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
Goal-oriented and highly organized team player.
